Students Inside Albany Program
Great Opportunity for High School Students to Learn How Laws Are Made in
New York State
May 22-25, 2022
We are happy to announce that the 2022 Students Inside Albany conference will be an in-person event. It will take
place will take place May 22-25, 2022. Bram Pomplas from Bath is
our representative to this year's conference. Update: at the last minute the event was canceled due to Covid concerns.
We try to send at least one high school student from this region to the program
each year.
The program offers a wonderful opportunity for high school students
from our counties to learn how
laws are made in New York and to meet like-minded
students from other parts of the state. There is no cost to
the student who is selected.
The Students Inside Albany conference is an intensive
four day training experience held each spring. Students learn the
process by which state laws are proposed, enacted and amended.
Students are given an opportunity to observe Assembly and Senate
sessions and to shadow their Assembly members and Senators. Albany
insiders discuss the operations of New York State government and
explain how policy is shaped and enacted. For more information
about the conference, click here for the brochure.
